This is literally, from my perspective, the best bible app in the App Store. It has all the study tools a person could need; whether Greek or Hebrew. Awesome! I commend the person(s) responsible.

Wonderful. The best bible I have used electronically. Love it.
I get a lot out of all the different versions. I usually use KJV, Greek, Chinese and Vulgate, but that changes according to need.
This Bible app is the best, fastest and most customisable I have ever used. I highly recommend it. Only having a couple of translations is for sure a downside, but the ESV is the gold standard so no rush for me. Thank you for you work - I hope other people find it too!!
This app has some great features and functionality, but desperately needs a UX/UI overhaul. The app feels clunky and difficult to use. Animations and responsiveness is just bad. Also, the audio feature recently added is one of the most obtrusive things Ive seen in an app; one mis-tap and your phone starts talking in the middle of church or something like that. Please contact me if youd like some tips on creating a more cohesive user experience. I really want to see this app succeed, its honestly one of the most useful Bible apps on the App Store. email: delsid @ icloud . com
The first time I opened this app, its appearance (text, line spacing) was terrible. I didnt even use it for a few months. But a few days ago I opened it again, took the time to use the extensive text tools and discovered what a treasure this app is. Everything about it is fantastic. You can go to any Bible chapter in about 2 seconds. Every Bible app Ive seen has terrible word search functions, due to needle-in-a-haystack search results that is hard to find what you want. Not so with this app. You can search words with hundreds of hits and using the tools, quickly access the results by book. The tools is the best $1.99 you will ever spend on books. You get probably $2000 worth of study tools for $1.99. The Interlinear is priceless, especially the Greek & Hebrew word search to locate every verse where a particular Greek or Hebrew word is used. Serious study tools for serious students of Gods Word. I already have all these study tools on my PC and hundreds more, but to have this Bible study power on an iPad is fantastic.
Ive used this app for a number of years. It shows well on my iPhone 5s small screen. One can choose from a number of non-copyrighted translations. I favor the King James version. If you want the of the copyrighted translations, you might consider another app. I would definitely give this one a try.
1. The icons that allow you to navigate through the app used to be identified by abbreviations and now use symbols only; a learning curve is needed-not that friendly. 2. I now have to purchase study materials that I had access to previously. I would have liked to have considered this prior to making the upgrade. I dont like having the decision taken out of my hands. 3. I have this app on my iPhone as well but did not have these issues with the upgrade. I should be able to have the same features on the iPad that I have on the iPhone through the Apple store purchase without having to sync to iCloud – if that would even get me the same features.
This Bible application by Paul Avery is the best one Ive used yet. I have used this Bible since the iphone3 came out and havent switched to other apps since then. It doesnt matter what Bible used copyright or not people request, you can connect to God and do His will if they stick with original texts.
I have used this app for the past 5 years and it is the best bible app I have ever used. Its simplicity is its strength. If you are looking for an app that lets you read the Word efficiently, this is the app for you. Its loading speed is unmatched and it allows you to have the essential functions (like the highlight and search functions) without over-cluttering the app.
Hi Paul! I love this app. I have been using it for years. My only complaint (Im giving it 1 star hoping youll see this otherwise itd be a 5) is that I have to reselect and fix my color selections. I see that was supposed to be fixed in the latest update, but that was not the case. Please help, I truly love this app. Also, is The Message also one of the translations that costs a lot upfront? Its a wonderful translation too. :)
like autoscrolling, to name one.
This app is very well thought out. The conveniences in navigation and tool use show that the developer really understands how the app is used. So many developers seem to miss this step and leave much to be desired. Autoscrolling, text sizing, highlighting, note taking, bookmarking....theyre all here, and more. I honestly dont think Ive ever had to stop and think, "gosh, i wish this app did _____".
Its simple and everything you need in a bible app. Ive been using it for 5 years and have not had one complaint. It saves my highlights and all!!
Love it ,amazing comes in handy at church or when you just want to read
This used to be a nice little app, but not so much now. Every time there has been a revision it seems like functions get taken away, hidden, broken, or moved around. Its like someone, as a cruel joke, going into a mechanics tool box at night and rearranging all his tools, hiding others, breaking some, and throwing others away. After every revision it seems that more and more time is spent re-learning the app and figuring out what happened to the functions (and how to use them again -- if theyre even still available) than getting work done with a reliable, dependable tool. The app cannot now even properly do text or phrase searches accurately, as it fails to parse out punctuation (if a search term is immediately bounded by punctuation, it wont find it), and it finds search terms within fractions of words spread out in a whole verse, and presents such a verse as a "result". Seamless transitioning between original Old and New Testament text displays is also now broken. Multiverse copying has now become a hacking procedure or weirdly grouped texts. The app has grown from a help into an impedance that is in the way: it is frustrating. This was a great and simple concept early on, but it has now gone awry by the adding of bling and bells and whistles that are but mostly vain distractions, while functionality suffers as a result. Form over substance. What a loss! If you want to spend your time studying an app, get this tool. If you want to study the scriptures, the app is possibly still useful if you can endure its hindrances and accept the loss of features. I still have hope that the app can return to its original intent evident in its early instances: great functionality with simplicity.
I love that it keeps my notes but... Can you fix the bug where it covers my text with the keyboard while Im typing my notes on my iPhone. Thanks for a cool app!
Ive tried many different Bible app, and this one is the best one hands down. Their user interface is simple and practical. Definitely recommend it!
The app use to be awesome but for about 4 months now it freezes all the time. I have deleted and reinstalled it several times but to no avail. Please fix it. Thanks
I love this app, but ever since I updated it on my iPad. It keeps pausing and stays stuck when I try to change the appearance, even froze my iPad. And the keys for menu options do not work at all anymore. Please fix this because I dont want to find another Bible app.
